Terex Corporation Benefits Specialist in Redmond, Washington

Provides and supports day-to-day administration the employee benefits program, communicating, and processing employee benefits transactions in at least the following areas: group health and welfare, other forms of group insurance, paid-time-off, capital accumulation, and special sponsored activities. Administers the company-sponsored leave of absence programs, including documentation, processes and database management to maintain compliance and educate Team Members. It requires the ability to handle sensitive employee relations issues and to communicate with Team Members and internal departments. Provides information and guidance to employees and management concerning policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations for team members, managers/supervisors and HR This position also includes management of unemployment records and correspondence and serves to back up the Human Resources Coordinator and Benefits Manager to meet overall objectives of Benefits Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts benefits orientations and benefit management of enrollments

  • Assists team members in understanding their benefits, including use of programs and services

  • Participates in the day-to-day administration of the benefit program for Genie team members by answers questions, processes documents on a timely basis, processes bills, and provides data for required reports.

  • Processes enrollment and communicates to TM and guardian of children with Department of Social Health Services (DSHS) support orders in accordance of the law

  • Maintains up-to-date and compliant employee records for employee benefits. May maintain files and correspondence for workers compensation and unemployment claims.

  • Resolves customer service issues.

  • Vendor monitoring for accuracy and compliance with managing and analyzing leaves of absence requests, including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), according to company policy and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Including STD, LTD, Family Caregiver Leave, Secondary Caregiver Leave, and Maternity Leave.

  • Administers other company leaves for all AWP such as personal, bereavement and jury duty which are not outsourced.

  • Provides written form documents for company paid STD, Family Caregiver Leave, Secondary Caregiver Leave, and Maternity Leave to Payroll and HRIS for all AWP.

  • Evaluate team member options at the end of standard leave periods for compliance with policy and administers Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and various other federal and state disability laws, and Terex Corporation policy.

  • Administers other company leaves for all AWP such as personal, bereavement and jury duty which are not outsourced.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3 years of benefits experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate's Degree

  • Requires technical knowledge of generally accepted personnel management practices, fair employment practices, and laws.

  • Requires basic knowledge of common employee benefit plan provisions such as group insurance, paid-time-off, retirement, and capital accumulation.

  • Requires sufficient human relations skills to convey technical concepts to others, to deal with sensitive and confidential information, and to facilitate discussions in individual and small group settings.

  • Requires demonstrated skills at accessing relational databases, verifying numerical and demographic information, and entering information onto established data entry screens. Requires strong PC skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Requires the ability to convert involved technical and legal information into practical communications.

  • Ability to manage time effectively under exacting deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.

  • Requires sufficient ambulatory ability to perform work at multiple locations.

  • Requires the ability to lift, move, and carry lightweight materials less than 30 pounds.

  • Requires sufficient hand-arm-eye coordination and hand/finger dexterity to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment.

  • Requires near visual acuity to recognize words and numbers.

  • Requires auditory ability to project voice to small groups and to carry on conversations over the phone and in person.
